A Crystalline Boat

I know a girl with a moonstone heart
It holds enough emptiness for everyone
I call her...she turns and smiles
Uncertain and a little fractured
Trying to catch everyoneβs tears while she drownsΒ
In the darkness, in the absence...
Trusting the angels of love will save her
She keeps holding out for one little spark
And a Sibylβs words in her mouth
I know a girl with chrysocolla eyes
She lost her way in the middle of living
With all its attendant leavings
Her mysteries lie under mushrooms
She reaches for the light of dead stars and storms
Casting her wishes into Yesterdayβs wells
Fading to a ghost of who she might have been
Disintegrating into a version of She calledΒ
Stranger
The girl with garnet lips is singing
Maybe Easter will bring my resurrection
Her tears fall like molten pearls
Resigned to the inevitable
Her house of cards shivertumbles down so elegantly
So graceful at this point of her descent
All these fireworks inside waiting for lightning
But her fields are all covered in ash
And her jewels are all clouded
The girl with feet of glass is stumblingΒ
Still she tries to climb mountains of time
Her legs wrap around trees
Willow and birch
Aware of her every unconscious synchronicity
Incandescent in her belief
Trusting the ghost of Autumn will catch her
Eyes on the hourglass and the prize
Hearing the whispering light in her hair
In the wee hours l am awake like a cliche
Searching the night for a solace l canβt even name
And all l feel is the violet press of the eyesΒ
of the He l was almost enough for
But now lβm alone in my silvered glass
and not even enough for myself
We all bleed from our Fisher King wounds
Holding vigil for that one little spark
And a Silvery moon to guide us home
I set sail for Myself in the morning...
In a Crystalline boat Β that knows the way
With room enough
For everyone...
