A Delicate Disaster...

A Delicate Disaster...

Memories dripping down the wall,
Like tears that echo stories til dawn,
Slumped, taken hostage by the bathroom floor,
Ice cold, yet bitterness and truth knocking at the door.

She screams in a silent room,
She looks like she could break,
So brittle the mirrors gonna crack soon,
Such beauty in this delicate disaster.

The colours of black and blue stained the skin of abused flesh,
Shard nails with signs of escape, but yet victorious from death,
Collapsed against the sink, trying to comb her hair to hide the bald patches,
Purpled veins fill her eyes, she can't fall asleep, her reflection is her distraction.

As the bang on the door echoed in this bloody room, how can I carry on!
Bang!
Just stay strong,
Bang!
As the sound shudders through my grey haunted body,
Bang!
Please just stay strong,
Bang!
Water filling with crimson, I can almost see the horror in each ripple,
Bang!
How did I find myself here,
Everyday I'm living in fear,
Bang!
Bang!
The stench of alcohol seeping under the door is stomach curdling,
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!

Silence...

Silence but my breathing,
Heavy reaching,

She hears a distant slam, knowing he's back out to catch last orders,

She screams in a silent room,
She looks like she could break,
So brittle the mirrors gonna crack soon,
Such beauty in this delicate disaster.

Beauty in belief,
Pulling herself up, recognising!

As she hides ripped clothes with her heavy long coat, she finds the strength to stand tall,
Her face no longer a ghost, her daughter from the bathroom cupboard finds her hand to hold,
It was then she knew,
She knew she wasn't alone,
The fragile, small loving hand gripping her mother,
She knew,
She knew that this moment was their last and there wasn't to be another.

With terror in the mother, she picked up her daughter,
She opened up the door and saw the vacant corridor,
Bare footed, bruised and battered, she chose freedom with their life in tatters,
She gave everything,
Empty of love but her child,
For there's relief in no more battles.

My daughter?
A Delicate Disaster...

We humans are capable of so much pain, we humans are capable of holding so much pain, we humans are........ Love and destruction all at once.
