A Desert Plant in a Canadian Winter

How long until a desert plant grows in winter?
As long as a rock takes to grow wings
As a statue takes to change its opinion
Or a chair to walk the length of a room
An impossible task for a seed so young
Without the right tools there is no chance
No loving words to aid growth
An immortal drought in the middle of the snows
For you see, the plant is a metaphor
A way of me telling you to take care
To fight your way through trouble and turmoil
To be a desert plant in a Canadian winter
To find your own source of heat and light
To rely on all around, and yourself most of all
For you are strong, and brave, and bold
For you decided to sprout and live
For you are life in the deep snows.

nature is a wondrous thing. I write quite often of the magnificence.
