A Diamond In The Rough

A Diamond In The Rough

For Dblankportrait in response to his powerful poem “Jewel of my Soul”

A volcanic eruption in his soul
Brings “The Glass Menagerie” of dreams
Will “Libras’ Scale” balance his hurting heart
As an Amethyst’s amelioration gleams

Will the darkness of his depression
Become the bright “Light of His Life”
As he selects a lovely Quartz of Rose
And in a vision, proffers it to his intended wife

Will the Ruby redness of her lips
Crimson Garnets that promise kiss
Turn his blemished Jade into Imperial
Such beauty ne’er again to miss

Will his Sapphired melancholy
Give way to the Pearl of the Sea
And on the Golden Sands of Paradise
Ask of her, “Wilst Thou Marry Me”?

A jewel doth shine
Bringing light into the heart
And love to the Soul

Bursting with sentiment and feeling to warm the heart.
You write with integrity and complete honesty which increases the power of your poetry, making works easy to understand in terms of their motivation and message !
Take care my friend.

My Dear Friend Richard,

It is very interesting that you use the words "integrity and honesty" in describing my poetry, for I truly have found those same two qualities in every poem of yours I have ever read.  When I was in high school, and studying Physics, we were taught that "like fields repel".  But I guess when it comes to the two of us, I beg to differ.  Because our synonymous works join one another in complete harmony.

Peace and Love,
Larry xxx
