A Father’s Lesson

Every man should have a daughter..
To feel her laughter light the air.
To know her dreams, her hopes, her fears..
To guard her heart with love and care.
For if one day she stands there weeping..
Her trust betrayed, her spirit torn.
He'd feel the ache within his chest..
A silent wound forever worn.
You wish her kindness, strength, and grace..
A love that's pure, a hand that's true.
A world that never seeks to break..
The light she carries, bright and new.
And yet, if you have loved a woman..
And let her heart be left in pain.
Would you not see, in time's reflection..
Your own sweet child in tears remain?
For every girl who walks alone..
Was once the child in someone’s arms.
A father’s joy, a love well-known..
Not meant to suffer needless harms.
If you have loved and lied..
Or left a woman lost, betrayed.
Would you not feel the sting inside..
If it were her who felt afraid?
So ask yourself before you falter..
Before your actions wound her heart.
Would you stand and watch your daughter..
Bear that pain of falling apart?
