Poem -

A Friend Indeed

I went to school day after miserable day
Hiding and running had to be my only way
I wanted to graduate but couldn't beat the odds
My popularity was quite different from the cheerleading squads
Everyone knew me and looked forward to me coming to school
Not because they liked me and thought I was cool
I'm sure they missed me once they noticed I never returned
It was the thrill of my sufferingΒ
That They ever so yearned
I started losing hope when one day I finally reached the end
I started talking with wishful words to an imaginary friend
Well many years later I finally lifted away the weight of all my failures
I am living proof that there is never any unanswered prayers
My friend had been taking notes all of these years
Collecting my hopes in preparation to wipe all my tears
Although prayers may not be answered when you think they should be
If you ever have any doubt and start losing hope then just take a look at me
