Poem -

A GOOD MAN

when he stopped
abruptly
to pluck a snail
from the path

and placed it
safely
on the lushest
greenest leaf

i did not think
at all
to ridicule
or laugh

for
i thought him
to be
a good man

who would
cut down the brambles

and make safe
the path

and in that very instant
I gave him
most gladly
my heart.

A Lonely Journey

Marionette,
Very sweet! What a little, romantic, nice heart you have.
(Albeit, the story turns a little later as he is discovered eating escargot in his laundry closet). Kidding, I shouldn't joke during your beautiful writing, sorry!
Loved it!
Matthew.
