Poem -

A HEAVY BAG...

You have brought me grieving
to an empty house
where ghosts linger
like boisterous children
eager for attention
brushing against me
calling my name...

I blow away the dust
as I walk the whispering rooms
collecting memories
for you did not take them
with you...

there is a cobweb in the corner
I let it stay
for spiders are beautiful
and don't deserve to die
because you did...

they will remain
where you could not
and live
when you cannot
just
because...

this though comforts me
as I close a door
i will never walk through again
and leave...

with a heavy bag of memories.

A Lonely Journey

Marionette,
Powerful, beautiful, wonderfully written, that's all I can say(I have a very limited vocabulary today). lol.
Another terrific poem. How do you do it? You're like another Jillian, popping out wonderful poems at a pace reminiscient of Bruce Jenner's triathlon runs during his man days...???.
Beautiful.
HUgs,
(no, that's not a capital 'u').
Matthew.

Oh ...bugger, spilt my tea laughing...seriously!! My first word was the F word but I deleted it cos it's Cosmo and poets are delicate?
it was that reference to (all I can say) that did it... just makes me effing laugh so I'm putting it up there with 'interject'...?( That ones a 'wink') telling you cos you're not an emojiite. Now where were we?? Oh yes...thankyou truly for your support and lovely lovely comments my friend ?...what's our challenge and who is doing it?? ?

Marionette,
Now you're starting to confuse me(as Jillian does) with sentences only intelligible in Northumbrellaland(or wherever she hails), but you're a riot!
Hey, I've got a challenge for you guys that I'm really excited about, but I haven't finished it quite yet! If you haven't eaten all the sqwackle, there will be great prizes of it. Give me a day, and I shall finish it's preparation...H..???
Hugs,
M.

A brilliantly written poem Marion. Some really great imagery in there, the words transport me to that room of memories.

Take care  - Syd
