A Legend Comes To Dayton

A Legend Comes To Dayton

Last Sunday, a legend came to Dayton, to help alleviate the pain;
Of a city that’s in mourning, from a madman’s deadly reign!
A week before, a monster had come packing, just after one a.m.;
Shooting forty-three dear people, and killing nine of them!
.
Had our brave cops not responded quickly, he’d have slain a hundred more;
But they killed at a bars entrance, before he got into its door!
The massacre was over, but its aftermath lives on;
Nine innocents, their lives lost, nine sweet Souls are now all gone!
.
But a good man came to console us, his face recognized to all;
A star known round the whole World, has stood so very tall!
For this is where his roots are, just twenty miles away;
He did everything that was possible, his condolences to pay!
.
This photo shows him with our Mayor, while on a shopping spree;
Then he sang privately for many people, affected by this tragedy!
I’m sure he wined and dined them, brought some joy to their sad Souls;
John Legend, you are a great man, your actions we now extoll!
.
.
Thank you John Legend
For coming to our rescue
And bringing much joy
