A Little Hope

A Little Hope

I can tell when you are down.
Please don't hide away.
All you need to do
is only make it through today.
Close your eyes and think of just
one time that you smiled.
We all deserve the happiness
of laughing like a child.
Take a chance and see
a little more courage
could be all that you will need.
You can be so strong
and face the feelings head on.
Don't rely on artificial aid
'cause when the self medicating is gone
the feelings just return the next day.
Spend time with someone who cares,
not drowning your thoughts with lots
of people that are just there.
The deafening silence when they leave
of thoughts flooding back is extreme.
I hope you can use these words
whenever you feel dismay.
Remember if you keep trying
that everything will eventually change.
