The Never Ending Love
The Never Ending Love
I always pictured us holding hands
together wherever we were.
Swept away by love the days blurred.
Then during passing glances
like we'd done so many times
something I'd never seen,
an expression captivating,
a depth in your eyes.
I wasn't sure what it could mean
but I felt it was true,
a love that always feels new,
a clarity that shines through.
Isn't this, all the love we ever hoped for
since we could remember,
it's everything we thought that it would be.
With you, my dreams came true,
all I see is harmony.
But then the world's cold rage creeps in
and I wake with clammy skin.
Emptiness stares back as the dream fades fast.
Dry tears wash the last of your image away,
Why, why does my heart feel this pain,
will the time come to laugh once again,
how do I find what was left behind?
Why is my fate to carry all this weight,
all I have is this dream I survive
to keep me alive, how is that fair,
when everyone else gets love to be theirs?
Long ago a man decides to possess
as his heart was empty and cold.
He would take her as his prize
for her heart was fashioned from gold.
So he pretends to love and care
and she is soon destroyed by despair,
the shattered shards of her heart
cut the fabric of his reality apart,
throwing him into a never ending loop.
An example for all to see
Doomed to relive her ultimate loss
for all eternity.
