A LITTLE TOO LATE

How can my heart love
When it is drained of its capacity to feel
You speak of love as though it floats on air
But with this idiotic idea love soon disappears
Love is the foundation
And the very existence of mankind
When the heart embraces its philosophies
The root of love penetrates deep into the psyche of man
And produces kindness, empathy, strength and compassion
The weak is made strong by love
The broken hearted is healed by the hands of love
The poor's wealth is discovered by the acts of love
And wickedness is consumed
By the strength of love
But you have covenantally deprived me
Of the ability to love
You've blocked my path with segregated streams
Where racism runs deep and poverty screams
You've imploded my righteous thoughts
With your dynamite of hate
You've obscured my vision
And lay waste my faith
Now in your crisis and desire to survive
You bacon from your platform of fear
Needing my support to keep you alive
Finally recognizing that we breathe the same air
But how can I show you love at this time
When you have so easily
Poisoned my heart and laid sieged to my mind
It's time you face the fire
Once ignited for my demised
I speak as a fool
To the rich, powerful and the wise.

Sir BARKER<
A truly, BEAUTIFULLY sculpted, painted, and delivered poetic narrative you have given us here...... it screams truth and sheds light into corners often left in the darkness.... it has a kind of poetic wisdom about its ambiance/tone......it 'hits home' with the fist of honesty and pain.... for he is truly broken and then asked to save the very soul who broke him in the first place...... it's an age old tale revisited here with modern truth's poetic expression!!.......ALL STARS!! & PINNED!!.......I pray you are doing well my friend!!........I am your cyber-friend and admirer!!....... Tony. : )
