A Man Born Dead

A Man Born Dead

The days go by,
The hours slip past,
The seasons come,
The seasons go
And still, we two are far apart

It's been four months that I've been out at sea
Away from my gorgeous wife
And my insightful young lad
Mending fields to earn a minimum pay
Before having to leave

Heading out to sea to acquire more money
A life at sea was not what I wanted
To see nothing but water encircling my future
Until I can return home

Then I see her
A muse of the underworld
Her flowing hair
Black as the depressing night
Eyes as green as emeralds
Shimmering in the fluorescent glow of the moonlight
Abd ravishing teal shells that conceal her breasts

Her tail a beautiful silver
Like the gleam of the sea
Settling just below her angelic waste
As she sat upon a boulder
Her gaze piercing deeply into my soul

She then began to sing, so that I could not,
Except with pain, have drawn my eyes
Away

"I am the lovely Siren", she sang
"Come to me"
So full of pleasure to satisfy my ear
I could not get enough of her exquisiteness

"Come to me"
The rest of m y crew seemed unfazed by her magnificence
I wanted her
Her intelligence
Her seductiveness
Her elegance
Her luscious
Alluring lips
I wanted her

I sailed over the barrier of the boat
That separated me from my significant other
Falling and falling
Until my body was submerged in water

Resurfacing,
To see her in front of me
A wicked smile gracing her precious lips
Before she molded them with mine
I could feel her on my skin
And taste her on m y tongue
She's the sweetest taste of sin
And the more I get,
The more I want
I was entranced by her beauty

"Follow me", she sings
Disappearing under the waves
I follow the love of my life
Further and further
Deeper and deeper

Tidal waves engulfed my muscled frame
Embracing me between their curtains of water
As they pulled my under

I see her,
Lolling there,
Between her coral reef
Enveloped in colours
Around the heaps of corpses
That were born dead
Rotting away,
Rags of skin,
Shriveling on their bones

I swam,
Further and further into the ocean
Until my oxygen ran low,
My ears popped
And the pressure again my head became unbearable
But I kept swimming

Until the sea turned black,
And not even the moonlight
Could brighten the hellhole that I was entering

I kept swimming
Until my strength was washed clean from my body

But she helped me
A bitter smirk sat graciously on her mouth
Sharpened, white teeth
And a snake like tongue
Were the only things I could see
In the darkness

As she pulled me deeper into the ocean
To my death
As I felt a piercing pain in my heart

I knew I was done for
Going under
Under
A man born dead
From the beginning
To the end
Slowly,
Ever so slowly,
Drifting
Far,
Far
Away

Gone
Fallen
Deceased
Lost
Slain
Departed into the pits of hell...

Dead
