A MAN WITHOUT A PRAYER

I am famished and tiredÂ
My journey have drained my soulÂ
The hills has brought me to you
Taking refuge under your branchesÂ
I look upon you for shelterÂ
I beg of you for a taste of kindnessÂ
Your harvest is robustÂ
But your fruit cleave to your limbsÂ
I can see the face of death from afarÂ
The sun has hidden its face from mine eyesÂ
The waters of eternityÂ
Rushes to the shore of my soul
I am a man without a prayerÂ
I reach for you but your arms are foldedÂ
I call out to you with my last whisperÂ
I would look upon youÂ
But darkness has seized sight
I am overtaken with grief and swallowedÂ
By the night.
