A Message to My Friend

The guy I call my best friend,I've known for a lot of years

His son told me he could have Cancer,in my eyes were welling tears

They've had more than their share of bad days,for many, I was there

But just got on and didn't look back,as others would cast comment and stare

They have a beautiful family,love and support,I know they'll give

In order for his speedy recovery so he may thrive and live

I know we've had our fallout,of that,I'm not so proud

But I'd like to throw away that dark cloud and the bitter shroud

As years as good friends,we've had some fun times,where has the time gone

We ran to get our beer guts off,then we did a half marathon 

We've had a few whiskey's too,along our merry way

In my heart is a special place when I was asked for dinner,so that I would not spend time alone,on my first lone Christmas Day

I'll send you love and best wishes,from the bottom of my heart

And may you make a full recovery,so you may have a fresh start
