Poem -

A Moment

Not a single soul
Has been able to hold onto a moment of time
Whether it be one during day or night
At a time of darkness or light,
Despite our best efforts,
The site of a moment played twice
Has not happened outside of a computer device

Over 7 billion 470 million people exist in this world
That's 237 years worth of memories or tears
every single second

We only get to stay
on this Earth for about 30,000 days
And you wouldn’t expect 671 of those to go down the drain due to time spent in the bathroom alone
You see, we will spend 1,635 days eating or preparing food
And let me not forget to include
The 574 total days you are soon to be spend
caring for family or friends
And no, this no where near the end
720 days will be devoted to your community-
possibly at your local unity, church
You've probably ignored the fact that more than 1,099 of your day's worth of time will be spent driving from places like the store to your house
Some of you are probably starting to have doubts about how much time you really have

Who here knew we will work for 3,202 days due to money?
It isn't even funny
How overworked and underpaid we are
And I get it, this is a far from perfect nation
But our generation's combination of sleep deprivation alongside overstimulation doesn't help much
We have become so out of touch
from the very thing that allows us to heal
The need for slumber is so incredibly real
And the number of days you put into desired, rarely acquired, but entirely required action
Is 8,477 days

With all that time put aside- applied- trying to provide,
Only 2,740 days of true free time remain
I'm gonna say that again
Because I need to explain the plain
Almost insane, truth

In our life of 30,000 days,
We only stay on this planet with true free time
For a percent that is less than the value of a dime to a dollar

Knowing that fact
We should clearly be able to see
That the number of times we were able to put employ of the month on display
Will not matter when we approach our dying day

During our life we mustn't be buried alive
Because they say the average person dies at 25,
But is put in the ground around the age of 75

For you see in the time it took me to read this rhyme alone-
Unbeknown- world wide over 40 have already died

So I'm here today to say it is not okay to just exist in this world
You must do more in your short moment of time

You could help out a charity
For peace and prosperity
Or spend more time with amazing friends
Before your life reaches it's end

You could write your own book,
Invent something new
Or prevent a disease
Just please do something
For one thing alone is all it takes to create true meaning all around
Doesn't that sound stunning?
But you're running out of time…
