A Moment of Silence

an empty moment

is the heaviest

blank minds
made fullĀ
of unspoken feelings
of unlived lives

of repulsion - for a tragedy of our own creation

a moment that is meaningful and beautiful
is never enough.Ā

I'm not entirely sure where you were going with this, heidiquill.
I'm horrible when it comes to interpreting the ambiguity of others.
The most important thing is that it means something to you.
Otherwise you wouldn't have written it at all.
Happy writing...

Hi Dean!

i wrote this today sitting in a cafe where they asked us to have a minute of silence for the anniversary of the Grenfell tragedy - and this was a bit of a brain fart musing that came after. How a moment of silence is so full despite being designed to empty - and about how that moment is important but isnt always enough.
thanks for reading!

I apologize for not giving you a more indepth review, heidiquill. But I didn't want to take the chance of trying to interpret the meaning and get it wrong, which I most generally do.
My poetry is pretty simple and easy to understand, but that's just how I've written for so many years. When I try to sound mysterious it usually comes across as pretentious drivel, LOL.
Anyhow, you are more than welcome.
It was entirely my pleasure.
