A Mother Nature’s Blessing

I am lay looking out of my window at an awe-inspiring sight
My marvellous Starling murmuration
Is such a natural delight
Hundreds of little black wings flapping in a frenzied flight
Ducking, diving, swooping, sweeping throughout the duskiness of twighlight
Why on earth they do this I shall never ever know
Are they aware I am watching them ?
Is this my very own sky show ?
Well whatever the reason is and there must be one I am guessing
I absolutely adore Starling murmurations
They are a Mother Nature’s blessing

Hi Jill,
You have penned another fantastic poem full of education. I'm a bird enthusiast and although the Starling is non-native to Ohio and has caused issues with other native and migratory species, the starling is a magically musical bird. When I'm walking in my back yard, it's hard to miss their, whistles and pipe sounding noises. I like hearing their chatter; however, they were brought to New York City in the early 1800's, because of the works of, William Shakespeare.
I have some websites that you may wish to visit sometime. There are hundreds of poems written about Starlings. I hope you enjoy the links.
