A Mother's Lies

A Mother's Lies

Here I walk down memory lane remembering once again
Sweet misery and pain ~ though not sweetness in
Realities game

As tears trickle down my face trying to understand your hate
Poison words left at my gate ~ truth in turn
Would be too late

You sealed my fate within your lies, now behind the mask you hide
You turned my world upside down ~ with one intention
To cause me harm

And in the years that followed would shout point and say
She'll end up bad that one ~ believe me make no mistake

And so the word would spread lies getting even bigger but
There were those who new the truth ~ and that seemed all
That mattered

Life seemed such a struggle but forever my head held high
I would prove to those who considered they were better
Without even having to try

Growing up, listened and watched all who thought themselves better
But in my heart of hearts I knew ~Be like them
NO not ever

But lots of damage can be done when lies impart to others, and
Practically destroy the very soul of the person that's left in tatters

Now forgiveness is all that matters

"Don't believe all that you hear"
