A painting

A painting

I wish I was a painting
Looked upon with such beauty & admiration but never affected
A piece of art sitting still not moving
A statue standing tall & not breathing
The days & weeks would pass but the only thing id have to worry about is collecting dust
Maybe the silent air that moves between the crevices
Possibly the glass covering that protects me from outsiders getting to closely
I wish I was anything other than human
A human fighting demons, anxiety & depression
Unhappy & fighting each day as if it was my last
A mental battle with thoughts that scare me
I wish I was a painting..

Then maybe I shall become a painting as well! 🖤  The only thing I fear is the day I stop fearing myself🖤🖤 I enjoyed your write and I appreciate you sharing!

im sure you'd be a lovely painting or a statue, a cause for wonder, but we, as readers, would never have had this moment of reflection, this beautiful poem and the hope of others, soon or late, to follow.
