A Portrait of you

The heavenly way

A Portrait of you

I cried when you passed away
I cried each time I tried to pray
I couldn’t make the pain go away
I wanted your portrait to stay.

Fate said that we had to part
You have been there from the start
With the strength of a golden heart
Which never stopped beating hard.

Running up from earth to heaven,
Following you hugging and forgiven,
With the call of angels now beckoning
Clouds, painting a hero for the living.

You might have stayed one more day
Just for a moment to help us pray
But instead, you went on the heavenly way
Although we all wanted you to stay.

Helping more weary souls to be saved
You left a portrait of the young and brave
The motivation and aspiration we crave
Hoisted high that flag of victory you wave.

And joined every battle still to come
in the selfless partition to be done
We think of how you would have won
The war with adrenaline and passion

Memories are alive every single day
Thinking of you helps us survive this way.
Loving, laughing, with the words you say
And those smiles that never go away.
