A Pretty And Lonely White Flower Seller

A Pretty And Lonely White Flower Seller

She sells her pretty white flowers,
At her pretty white market stall.
This pretty but lonely woman,
Her white flowers for one and all.

No-one pays her much attention,
Over the years that come and go.
Some browse but quickly walk by,
Her pretty flowers that are on show.

She yearns of falling in love,
Meet a man to cherish and keep.
Then she packs her flowers up,
Goes home and sadly does weep.

This lonely pretty flower seller,
So crestfallen yet kind and keen.
Dreaming of meeting a good man,
Yearning for true love never seen.

Then when selling one sunny day,
A kind man was that day's outcome.
He smiled at her and softly talked,
And her heart for him did succumb.

At last her true love finally found,
Sought through her lonely endeavour.
A man to love and cherish always,
For this pretty now loved flower seller.

And on her beautiful wedding day,
Were bouquet flowers decorative and bright.
A handsome husband to forever love her,
For a pretty flower seller all dressed in white.

Awe Shaun, you are displaying your romantic side here, and it’s a beautiful thing to read. The end made me think of the Guinness advert (It was my dad’s favourite drink 😊) “Good things come to those who wait” and wait she did indeed do. A Soulmate is not something I think everyone desires to feel. I loved the gentle narration of this piece, an elegant write my friend ❤️
