The Thoughts Of Man

The Thoughts Of Man

The sum of knowledge is to know,
That nothing can be known.

In ceaseless never-ending flow,
The thoughts of man drift on.

To swell a volume of shoreless sea,
And lose themselves in its infinity.

Absolutely spot on Shaun, knowledge is a fleeting thing ever changing and rewriting itself. We know nothing except what we think we know. Hugs...welsh hugs😊 to you x

Pratibha, saw your reply in comments and leap-frogging other good people here, but will make amends in a moment.
Read your personal message and thank you.
And darned good to see you here after that nudge and again the best of luck to you and your brother on your joint venture, but the way you write, you don't need luck,.
You're that good and said brother I'm sure, will be likewise.
Thank you for you uplifting comments and with words like 'great piece'...
I'll have to buy at least two books!🌝

Shaun xx

The fish of the sea

As I read it for a third time now, I can understand a little more. I agree, the most frustrating thing in life can be the unknown. I'm particularly impatient in life, always getting my timing wrong, mainly from the addiction of the unknown. Enjoyed this one Shaun!

Thanks Max for respectfully journeying here and as you say the unknown is that grey misty area that never reveals a true picture.
And does human knowledge start from a flat base and gradually over time form a pyramid, or is it eternally out of reach and ceaseless for the pyramid is inverted?
You mention impatient mainly from the addiction of the unknown.
Yes, know what you mean there and for me it's those bloody traffic jams in the morning school runs and poor Kate Bush works overtime on the cd player to calm me down.
And she's a very lucky woman to be with me!
Good old Kate :)
Thanks again Max and respect to you my friend.👍

So true. We do the best we can with what they gave us to work with.

How very clever, I shall be stuck in reflection of these words for quite some time, brilliantly composed. 🌹

This is a good piece that offers wise words. Yes, Shaun, seem to remember Einstein said, OTTE, the more we know, the more unknown.

Insight is useful than knowledge,
and knowledge is useful than information.

We are so easily be drowned in the ocean of information today!

Cheers,
Yiyan
