Island Of Lost Dreams
We sail and happily venture away,
Seeking our Island of Lost Dreams.
We'll discover it one jubilant day,
Guided kindly by sun and moonbeams.
An isle calling over many years,
Still ebony veiled as dark as night.
To lift our mists of yearning tears,
For true paradise just out of sight.
We'll locate it soon my friend,
Never to lose hope or ever tire.
For our journey there's an end,
One of love and eternal desire.
So we sail so smoothly drift away,
To our treasured Island of Lost Dreams.
For we'll blithely find it one fine day,
Or a night as the moon freely gleams.
As heavens fiery stars brightly shine,
You elatedly cry out its over there!
Behold your good Dreams and mine,
So boyish girlish innocent and fair.
All the Lost Dreams of our lost youth,
Reclaimed no matter what the years cost.
We embrace now knowing the final truth,
Dreams of imagination are never truly lost.

Hello Shaun, I really enjoyed this one it gave me a lot to think about. We all have hopes and aspirations and those change as we grow, it's interesting to think of them on an island where dreams reside after they're unfulfilled or even fullfilled now we have changed directions in life goals
really well done bonny lad
Fantastic peice of work

You have created such a lovely work here Shaun...it's almost a fairy tale for adults, so soothing and reassuring like a verbal hug at the end of a long tiring day...fab x
Marion thank you for stopping by and you get it, in what you say here,
for this is a halfway house poem for the child in every adult and one for kids to read and hopefully enjoy also :)
And boy after the day I've had (and probably many more people)
I sure could use that hug.š
Thanks Marion and good to see you back after a while and hugs back at you:)
