Oh misty eyed haziness across the valleys below
Ice-capped rugged mountains
February’s fathomless snow

Dare he walk into no man’s land
A woody wilderness ramshackle
Overgrowth of outback copses
Surely impossible to tackle

Yet soldier on with outdoor gear
Man pushes on to achieve his quests
Unprepared for unexpected elements
An abundance of harsh nature’s tests

Weather-beaten faced 
He braves his toughest challenges
Steadily climbing with abated breath
Cautiously clinging the mountain ridges
Narrowly avoiding sudden death

What drives his will & determinion
Why on Earth is he so bold
Is it the desire to conquer his phobias
A victorious title he longs to hold

Subsequently he stands on the mountain summit
Buckled & bruised, tho elated with himself
He can’t explain his ecstatic  feelings
A priceless trophy to add to his shelf
