"A Realisation"

first love, first lover
traipsing through dark streets,
stomachs empty though our hearts are full
looking up longingly at an empty sky
searching for the stars we feel so full of
trains, stairs and the squelching steps of soaked shoes
go on
and on
and on
but we don't mind that we're sore
we don't mind the physical pain
because we're so full of warmth and of care
forget the anxious metal ink of distant, dissonant mouths
forget any niggling notion that nulls this moment
now
of streets,
of squelching shoes
of hunger;
remember warmth, care, night, stars
the first lover, and the same first love

This is beautifully written and flows so well. I really like the formatting, it's different and brings life to the words. The opening line it perfect and is what initially brought me here and the way you match the first and last line works perfectly.
All you need is love right?
This stanza is my favorite. Showing no matter what the struggle everything is okay as long as you are with the one you love.
Amazing write! Welcome to Cosmo!! :))
Hiya!
Wow thank you so much,
yes you've understood this perfectly!
I wrote this about a memory I have with my boyfriend in the early stages of our relationship, I first put it to paper when I first realised I loved him.
Thanks so much for your kind words! :)
