A Senior S.O.S.

As an American Senior Citizen, I am disgusted beyond compare;
With the atrocities against us, for comprehensive, complete healthcare!
For Medicare and Medicaid, leave tremendous financial gaps;
So we have to carry extra insurance, which our finances often tap!

Then even when we fork it out, almost four thousand extra bucks a year;
Our prescriptions come with a codicil, this “doughnut” that we fear!
For once you’ve reached their quota, your meds increase in price;
Quadruple or quintuple, for Seniors, not so nice!

The care for our Senior Citizens, in America, is corrupt;
CEOs making millions, while the needy’s hearts erupt!
In so many other countries, their aged are revered;
Their medical costs all covered, no need to live in fear!

We need to change this wanton system, and have health care to be free;
Like so many other nations, where seniors can happy be!
They are catered to completely, their lives are free from stress;
Why can’t we be treated like the others, when we reside in the U.S.!

             For healthcare which should be free
                    Please don’t discard us
