A SOUTH AFRICAN SUNRISE

A SOUTH AFRICAN SUNRISE

God paints a different picture

every morning.

The icy blue pastel of the sky,

nature adorning

the scene with shafts of sunlight

shaped by the trees.

Cotton wool clouds keep their distance

approach the sun with unease

like, if they were to block any part

it would be a sin.

The low sun creates a landscape of shadows

that hold within

the messages God sends down to us,

transient pictures that fade.

Everything will be different tomorrow.

Perfection portrayed.
