A STONE IN THE POND
Love on trial

Our love has been criticizedÂ
My those that are blind
To its wholesomeness
Our names talked aboutÂ
By a scandalous fewÂ
That gossips on the windÂ
Of entertainmentÂ
We have becomeÂ
The laughing stock of acquaintances
Because you are three times youngerÂ
Than IÂ
The city turns its head
At our expressions of loveÂ
In its streetsÂ
But we are not detouredÂ
Our love is not stirredÂ
Come!
Let's leave the dust of the cityÂ
And it's critical populace behindÂ
And find us a place to embraceÂ
And unwindedÂ
There we can be free
To release that which criesÂ
To be vindicated and displayedÂ
Like the dancing of swansÂ
On a stone in the middle of pond.
