A STONE IN THE POND

Love on trial

A STONE IN THE POND

Our love has been criticized
My those that are blind
To its wholesomeness

Our names talked about
By a scandalous few
That gossips on the wind
Of entertainment

We have become
The laughing stock of acquaintances
Because you are three times younger
Than I

The city turns its head
At our expressions of love
In its streets
But we are not detoured
Our love is not stirred

Come!
Let's leave the dust of the city
And it's critical populace behind
And find us a place to embrace
And unwinded

There we can be free
To release that which cries
To be vindicated and displayed
Like the dancing of swans
On a stone in the middle of pond.
