A Stupid Love Poem
You're everywhere
And nowhere
You live 45 hundred miles away
In a purgatory in my head
I can taste you in my licorice tea
Its taste is sweet ash and nauseating
I can hear your laugh in "The Love Cats"
Shut that filth off immediately
I won't work with any of my green stones
Or wear black leggingsĀ
You seem to have styled my hair today
So I put it in a braid
Bloody bridge mix and wonderbars
Cat memes
Geese
And Mango
I'm angry that you're still here
I'm angry at my own disgusting sentimentality
Denial was a funner phase
Our ghosts danced and I slapped my leg
I lied to myself most creatively
Now I'm taking travel sickness pills
Taking out the trash reminds me of you
That'll sound really bad to anyone else

Hello Brittany, I enjoyed this. I felt the decay of a once precious romance just clinging on like dust that wonāt go away. Some pasts can just leave toxic waste behind. I liked the last lines which sum up perfectly what it can feel like in the end.Ā
