A Tale of Tears and a Glimmer of Light

A Tale of Tears and a Glimmer of Light

            The heart is locked,
            the mind is shut,
            and hope hidden
            behind those doors
            where dark took hold
            and the birds don’t sing.
I grew tired of heavy tears,
            I am weary.
            At the edges of heaven
is where I take a rest,
            a moment, a pause,
at the end of a quest.
I can see; I can see
            a glimpse of hope!
I want for me; I want for me
            that glimmer of light!
I open the doors of dark,
I enter the beams of light
I am the song of the birds,
            the morning birds of bright.

If I can prove you wrong, every word of this poem is worth of my optimism & hope. But if you’re right,-god forbid- we better to pull out the lifesavers. Or learn how to swim. Yes, let’s wait a bit, Nev

It seems that you really like this one, Marion. Wow!
How did I manage? look who's talking!
You wake up in the morning, put the kettle on and the head up.
That's courage. That's hope.

Hi Bernadette,

A haiku in response to your beautiful poem.

The darkest tunnel
Ends with a light awaiting
Walk on with all hope

Peace and Love,
Larry
