A tenner from heaven

Another grey day as I'm woke and moved along.
Made to think I will never belong!
Looks on their faces like I'm a disgrace,
Get me out of sight to save them some face.
So off I went with more tears in my eye.
I was so hungry and thirsty so cold but so dry.
5 years of this and I had now gave up hope.
Felt like sometimes I could kill just for a bar of soap!
Nothing could prepare me for the events that day.
When in this life that nothing has ever gone my way.
I found a tenner on the floor, and snatched it up before anyone could see.
Now i'm not a theif, but I knew this was meant for me!
I went down to the cafe, I got a toastie and a drink.
What to do with the rest I had to think?
I found my old box friend in the middle of town.
I knew he'd be cold, unhappy and down!
We went to the shop, he just wanted some fruit.
So I brought a scratch card with the rest of my loot.
I hit myself, I pinched myself, I smacked my head in the door!
Look I won 5 grand, with what I found on the floor!
It was money from heaven, someone saw my struggles!
No more waking up in all those puddles!
We went to an estate agents, to rent ourselves flats did my friend and I.
The estate agents looked at us and laughed till they cried!
But then I took out my bundle of cash,
There faces changed and they took my stash!
There was still some good ones of who I knew.
So I went out to share with these few!
I can't believe that day a tenner did all this.
If I knew who dropped it I'd give them a kiss.
(and their tenner back)
