“A-ting-a-ling-a-ling” 🎅🏼

“A-ting-a-ling-a-linging as I listened in my head

And as I hurried to my window sill hurling off my bedspread

I saw giant footsteps in the falling snow and caught a glimpse of something red

Well the snow had fallen silently so that was a surprise

But did I just see Santa Claus before my very eyes?

Or maybe’s it was my nextdoor neighbour dressed up in a disguise?

Though why on earth would he be creeping around in my garden before the early morning sunrise?

So of course my curiousity was killing me I just had to investigate

There was no time to change my pj’s coz I could hardly wait

And my hair would be all over the place looking an awful state

But at the crack of dawn well nobody would look great..

When I went outside my own front door and I rummaged around

There was a magical ambience in the air as deep, white snow lay on the ground

But apart from my own breathing I could not hear a sound

So if it was Old St, Nick I saw, he certainly could not he found..

But then again of course Santa Claus had been and gone coz it was Christmas morning

As I put my slippers on a’stretching and a’yawning

And I definately heard his sleigh bells ringing just as that day was dawning
