A Tree Falls

If a tree falls in
the woods, and no
one is there to
hear it, did it
make a noise?
 
Is it possible that
a tree falls in
the woods,  and a
person witnesses it,
and it does not
make a noise?
 
I once was hiking
with my ex-wife,
and on the hike,
a large rotted out
tree fell in the
distance.
 
I thought I heard
it make a noise,
but she said it
did not, therefore
I was wrong.
 
I learned to
choose peace
over being
right.
