Poem -

A whispered lie & a shattered truth

There are wounds that reach farther than any bullet or knife.
There are scars that last far longer than life.

The oceans filled with tears
After the struggle of so many years

Plagued by a day that seems to never end
And burdened by truth to rigid to bend

As my tattered and broken soul lay dying
I wonder if Cupid was always lying

My ribs contain the shattered remnant of a heart
As this life and world have torn it apart

The gods themselves sit laughing
While the devils themselves start staffing

The shadow fought its way back
As the shards themselves begin to turn black.

The life I’ve led seems a razors edge
From whispered lies and a painful pledge

I miss the broken glass
And wonder; if this too shall pass
