ABOVE THE LEGAL LIMIT

Choose life.. Don’t drink and drive.

ABOVE THE LEGAL LIMIT

FOR WHATEVER ITS WORTH,
I REFUSED TO DANCE AGAINĀ
ON THESE FEET OF CLAY.

SEEING THAT MY DRUNKENNESSĀ
HAS LABELED MY BEST FRIENDĀ
COMATOSE.

NEITHER SHALL I SING
SONGS OF JOY,
WHILE HIS VOICE REMAINS SILENTĀ
IN AN UNCONSCIOUS STATE.

BUT I THE UNBELIEVERĀ
WILL PRAY,
SEVEN TIMES A DAY,
THAT HE SEES THE SUN’S SMILE,
WITH THOSE STILL EYES.

AND MAY HIS LIPS UTTER
WORDS OF FORGIVENESS,
FOR MY BETRAYAL,
AND INCOMPETENCE,
TO MY BROTHER AND FRIEND,
WHOSE LIFE,Ā
I MAY HAVE RUINED. Ā
