Abraham Lincoln, We Salute You ❤️

Abraham Lincoln, We Salute You ❤️

He was a beast of burden
& Just like a ladened mule
Was well-used to being treated
Over-wrought & cruel

Hot & bothered thru exhaustion
Packed-up like a heavy horse
Tho his appearance was deminished
In comparison of course

Burned out, stressed sore,
Overtaxed & tense
Lugging larger- than-life amounts
Without any rest for recompense

Living in squalor, packed like tinned sardines
He shared a shanty shack
With too many other man- machines

His birth was ahead of decades
He was born inopportune
When slavery was acceptable
Before Lincoln’s law was immune

President Abraham Lincoln
Was sadly assassinated in 1865
This poor man’s life would have been so different if he was alive

No suffering at the hand’s of his fellow mankind
With no other explanation or reason but a Nation’s hate for colour blind
