Absolution

In the darkest times I meet my old friend,
We dance and sing and laugh,
Reminiscing of all the things we've done,
Of all the time we've spent.

All these memories fill the air,
Washing over my body with glamour and applause,
Leading me down the road to absolution,
To finally be freed from judgement.

But I merely stand in this blackened place,
With no light to find my way,
Again I visit but do not stay,
But whats one more failure to share with you next time friend?
