Heroes don't wear masks

Real heroes don't wear masks,
There's a smile upon their face,
For everyone to see.
With kryptonite in their veins,
They get up every day,
And fight the silent fight.

I promise you've met a few,
Although you wouldn't know.
You've passed them in the street,
You see them every day.
Hidden in plain sight,
Doing things quietly in their own way.

You've heard them laugh,
You've seen them play.
They're only small,
But stronger than you and I.
They're maybe 2, or 3, or 4,
But they will grow of that I'm sure.

Not one will save the world,
But if you sit and talk to them,
I promise yours will never be the same.
There's a strength they have,
Of which they're unaware,
But it's one they'll kindly share.

Open your eyes just a little further,
You'll find the secret that they keep,
Its right there for you and me.
And as they smile and laugh and play,
You will come to see it's true,
Real heroes don't wear masks.Β
