The faceless man

The blame falls upon the faceless man again.
Every time something goes wrong, he wears the fault that should be mine.Β
So long I've shunned the failures, I forgot to own my share.Β

It's time to stop the running, to stand and face the truth.Β
These shoulders don't bear the weight, only I know that they should.Β
To claim I was a man, a stretch to say the least.Β

Tonight we remove the mask, confront the masses and wear the guilt.Β
Here I stand, my imperfections all on show.Β
I want nothing from the world, but to pay back what I owe.

TWO TENDER BUDS
