Abyss

There is no up

There is no down

Can't catch my breath for I hear no sound

A reach, a stretch

Emptiness all that is left

Engulfed manifesting a monster

There's a belonging in being lost here

A chasm of my own consciousness

I've lost my sense

The light has faded

As will the thump; it seeks rest

Hope's light momentarily breaks the dark

Glimpses spark only to fade in the surrounding eternal cry

Are the fallacious depths making mockery of life's eye

Either truth or deception

An answer beyond comprehension

An inner desolation

Embodied in dejection

A shot in the dark left only to miss

For I am in the abyss
