The Ache of Love

My chemic love: ours—the breath of life. Thus we flame
Immortal. Waves flush the soul. Tears flood the spirit. And
We die to love, aflame. Such addiction: my heart-amore.
And such affliction, my photic soul. Thus we dance, the flirt
Of death; and thus we live, the touch of love. My cultic
Sore, my bleeding reed: I long the deathless flame. Your
Eyes, crystal flares: your gaze, a saintly prayer. And we
Perish, the ache of love.

But chemic love—our rising star. Thus we flourish, ablaze.
This storm, a poet’s dream: this scar, a poet’s blood.  We
Fall, unto light: we burn, unto death. And life, a sacral maze.
Thus the heart, a verdant field; and thus the soul, a christic
Vine. We love, the depth of life: we live, the depth of pain.
And such joy, the texture of death.
