Aching Thunder

Aching Thunder

I feel the waves wash over me.
The cold touch of water electrifies my skin.
I am awake.
Aware of my surroundings.
Conscious of the echoing wind that whispers in my ear.
Whispers sweet nothings.
I am enwrapped in all the night's glory.
I bathe beneath the moon.
I look to the sky
And suddenly
Rolling clouds of black and blue clumber to be heard.

The lightning strikes.
Fear will take you when it likes.

So true, Beatrix and very expressively well written.
We never know when or where fear will strike next. Sometimes our fears are unfounded—other times, e-h-h-h, not so much.
But when and if fear rears its ugly head we must be prepared to face it head on.
Nice writing.
