Adventures In Paradise

Adventures In Paradise

When I was a teenager in high school, I watched a TV show;

It was called “Adventures in Paradise”, where all men want to go!

It was filmed outside Tahiti; Gardner McKay had a charter boat;

You’d rent it for a few days, and through the South Seas would you float!

In every port they’d enter, native women would be there;

In grass skirts and swaying bodies, with luxurious long hair!

I dreamt of somehow going, to this paradise in the sun;

To meet all those long-haired ladies, and to have a little fun!

So often, as they will do, my dreams faded with my age;

Adult reality had set in, life is more than one big stage!

Yet hidden nether in my brain cells, was this young man’s fantasy;

Someday I’d have that Goddess, standing next to me!

It took a while to happen, but now I can truly say;

My adventure in pure paradise, finally came my way!

She does not wear a grass skirt, but her hair is just as long;

Right here I found my soulmate, she’s my own “Flower Drum Song”!

Hi Debs,

Yes, when you wish upon a star, sometimes it takes a while, but, eventually, if you search long enough, your dream will come true.  So happy you enjoyed it.

Hugs, Peace and Love,

Hi Brother Tony,

As usual, I always can't wait to read your comments to me, for they're always a source of great joy.  Yes, Tony, Flower Drum Song was a Broadway musical which was adapted for the screen in 1961.  I actually saw the play in Dayton, Ohio, as my parents were angels of the John Kenley Theatre Company, that brought major stars acting in summer theater to our town.  I've always been somewhat enamored of the South Pacific way of life.  I can see why Paul Gaugin spent much of his life there.

Peace, Love and Rockets,

xox Larry

Oh my lovely Larry, you`ve portrayed your love story so beautifully in this piece and I can just imagine how chuffed Linda must be with this one. Tony is right, these are words that would make any woman melt. You write beautifully in all your poetry and I`m so very proud of you my darling. Give Linda a great big hug and a kiss from me, I love her dearly and you too.

God bless

G xx
