Poem -

afraid

I'm afraid

I don't want to ruin it

It’s just a diamond in the rough,

But it’s fragile.

I'm afraid

It’s just a flower

So beautiful and colorful

But with a short life span.

It’s too close to the mouth of death.

I'm afraid we're going to die

Far forgotten.

Like everything beautiful it ends.

Dead.

I'm afraid that's going to be us.

The hands of time have taken its toll.

But I'm tired of being afraid

It doesn't bother me any more

Because I know we’re immortal.
