AFTER SUNDOWN

AFTER SUNDOWN

After sundown, the world stands still,
The air grows cool, the streets quiet and chill.
The sun dips below the horizon's edge,
And darkness creeps in like a silent pledge.

The colors of the day fade into dusk,
As nature whispers her secrets of the musk.
The moon rises, a silver orb in the sky,
Casting her shadow like an ocean wide.

The stars twinkle above, a celestial dance,
Their light is a reminder of fate's circumstances.
The night creatures emerge, their eyes shining bright,
As they prepare to roam in the soft moonlight.

After sundown, the world takes on a new guise,
A theater of mystery, wonder, and surprise.
So let us embrace the night with hearts unfurled,
And revel in the magic of the afterworld.

Wilford Barker.
