Afterlife

My heart grows lighter,
My soul grows warmer,
It's time to follow, the followed.
A floating flame on the water,
A Viking pyre,
My soul on fire.
Darkness, no sound?
What is this place?
Have I fallen from grace?
Father, is this where you sent me?
Losing time, so much time,
There is no time.
I see my childhood,
I see my toys,
I hear my crying,
I sense my sighs.
Birthday cakes, mother bakes.
Swimming with father, I must try harder.
First kiss, bliss.
First job with Sam.
Pushing our pram.
Calm, Calm.
Buddhists, chanting, but I can hear ranting.
I smell lavender, I smell incense.
Ghostly figures are present.
Two pillars, two doors,
My soul is the key.
Chanting hymns, ranting whims.
Ancient symbols of life beginnings,
Guide me to my door,
Turning the key,
I overdose on light.
Give me virgin sight,
My vail of comprehension is removed,
I kneel to my king.

Great write!
Spiritual conviction throughout and brilliantly conveyed.
'Two pillars, two doors,
My soul is the key.
Chanting hymns, ranting whims.
Ancient symbols of life beginnings,
Guide me to my door '
These lines work so well and attuned to part of something greater, that bigger construct that awaits.
