Aftermath

Aftermath

The craved for silence has arrived

We are so thankful that we survived

All endured so much upon this day

Now we ponder, having nothing to say

Remembering comrades no longer here

One fact has become absolutely clear

The battle for all its violence and ferocity

Has not  been the much needed victory

We must now dig deep to find within

Further courage and the resolve to win

A conflict that has already cost so many

Will go on, taking us into hell, mores the pity.

We know our souls are committed to a cause

But after what's been, we wish an end to all wars

I can't believe the inhumanity of it when I view films or see photographs of the battlefields.

Those that have fought in battle can be the most ardent anti-war activists after the fighting.

While evil tries to impose itself there will be war but no one with respect for others truly wants bloodshed.

It is a paradox that war must exist to halt the advance of evil. War is not representative of any morality or value goodness can relate to yet good souls must be prepared to fight. It is a tragedy that war has to happen.
