Against The Wind

            Inspired by Bob Seger’s song of the same title.

It’s so unfair for newborn puppies, to start their lives with a tragedy;
For they are robbed from the beginning, of a long longevity!
No matter how we care for them, or love them with all our hearts;
Few will live for fifteen years, before they sadly part!

Born to run “Against The Wind”, Fate waits to steal them all away;
When comes that time to say goodbye, when comes that horrid day!
With shattered Souls we kiss them, and hold them very tight;
We cry out our “I love yous”, as they slip into the night!
.
To many, they’re more then doggies, they’re our children very dear;
But we have to watch them suffer, as their time grows very near!
Our beloved little Soulmates, have no chance right from the start;
Not given longevities tenure, too soon they must depart!

                           Take them far too soon
