Aging

Aging

Contorted like an acrobat
And writhing in great pain
The spirit strives for greatness
The body doesn't do the same

Achievement was so easy
And now it's filled with strife
What ordeals befall us?
In this uncertain life

We used to breeze through pitfalls
We used to bear the aches
Resilience upheld us
When we would make mistakes

But now the road's not easy
And doesn't feel the same
Our goal's a contradiction
But no one is to blame

Resist our new condition
And bring us renewed hope
And will test resistance
Despite what we are told
